Description
This is a frame off restored 1970 Cutlass Supreme SX Convertible.

This is a TRUE numbers matching car from it's date coded carburetor to the correct 12 bolt rear end.

I have over 100 photos of the restoration process including detailed pics of the engine before re-assempbly.

The VIN is correct on the FRAME, BODY, ENGINE, and TRANSMISSION !!! This IS the original drivetrain. It has been completely taken apart and meticulously put back together.

Only a few things were changed:
We replaced the bench seat with buckets and center console. The Horn relay is new aftermarket, The master cylinder and booster are new. I do have the original "CT" stamped master cylinder as well as the original (NON "Delco" stamped and date coded) booster.

This is one of the very first SX cars to come off the line. The frame is date coded July 24 1969.

The Engine is Dated July 11
The heads are Dated July 13
This car has the RARE 2bbl carb 7029159 (1969 with A/C). Only the 2 bbl carb was available on early production SX Cutlass Supremes.

The 1970 Cutlass Supreme SX came standard with a 455 CI big block and a TH-400 Automatic transmission.
This car has the correct "TX" engine and "OD" transmission.

The SX convertible is considered rarer than the 442 by many.
As for the 2 bbl carb and 2:56 factory gears, you will be able to enjoy driving this car. If for some reason you ever want to change the rear end gears and put a 4 barrel carb on, you will be happy to know that when we built the engine, we put a w-32 cam in it and built it to w-32 specs. My only recommendation to you if you change the rear end gears is to change the tires-- There's no need to peal the rubber off of a nice set of redlines :-)
